I.S.O.P. - International Student Orientation Program
This program is
designed for students that are new to
North
America.We will discuss cultural
stereotypes and differences to help prepare the new
students for living and studying in the States as well
as the logistics and services available at Hollins. Sessions include
information on academic success, cultural and inclusion exercises,
presentations by various student services offices (including financial
aid, health services, business office, library services, writing center
and immigration issues).
There will be upper
class student leaders that will serve as ISOP mentors that help to organize the
sessions as well as to prepare fun activities which give our new studetns a head
start on meeting new people and learning about the campus.
International students that are coming from
abroad who have not studied in the United States
are expected to participate in the
International Student Orientation Program that
will be held on August 26-28, 2013.
