HISTORY AND MISSION

International Student Orientation Program (ISOP)

International students that are coming from abroad who have not studied in the United States are expected to   participate in the International Student Orientation Program (ISOP) that will be held on August 24-26, 2009.

This program is designed for students that are new to North America. We will discuss cultural stereotypes and differences to help prepare the new students for living and studying in the States as well as the logistics and services available at Hollins. Sessions include information on academic success, cultural and inclusion exercises, presentations by various student services offices (including financial aid, health services, business office, library services, writing center and immigration issues).

There will be upper class student leaders that will serve as ISOP mentors that help to organize the sessions as well as to prepare fun activities which give our new students a head start on meeting new people and learning about the campus.

If you have any questions about this program, please contact Jeri Suarez at: jsuarez@hollins.edu.
