History and Mission

Cultural & Community Engagement assists in fostering an environment that values and actively supports an inclusive community. Through social justice training, leadership development, open dialogues, programming and workshops, the office seeks to promote and encourage the acceptance and celebration of difference.

The program offers a wide range of services which include assisting with the recruitment, retention, and graduation of students of color and international students; providing information and referrals; advocating for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender students (LGBT); advocating for diverse students, faculty and staff; working to address oppressive behaviors; collaborating and supporting student organizations' programming efforts, as well as campus wide initiatives; and serving as a community liaison.
