About Me

Currently, I am a senior Women’s Studies major at Hollins University. I learned an appreciation for life stories in high school after taking a creative writing class that required each student complete an oral history project with an older community member. In the years since I graduated high school, several of the interviewees have passed on, leaving behind a record of their life story with the students at my high school. I took this class to enhance my knowledge of how life stories are produced, but also to improve how I leave traces of myself behind. One of my interests in life is journaling; reading journals, keeping a journal, making journals. Learning how we create an identity of self each time we tell a story of our own life was a real treat for me. I hope to use what I have learned in this course in the work I do after I graduate from Hollins in May 2008.
