The Knights of Gaia Academy for Conservation & Peace (
http://www.kogacademy.org/ ) is a nonprofit organization that is developing an
international school located on the edge of the Guyanese rainforest (S.
America). We are establishing an educational community whose central focus is on
sustainability, as it pertains to ecological conservation and social justice. By
establishing our campus on the edge of the Iwokrama national forest in Guyana,
our students are able to directly experience the beauty of the biological
diversity that we hope to preserve. By constructing all campus facilities using
“green” architectural principals and by relying on renewable energy systems, we
educate by example.
The Academy for Conservation & Peace will offer classes on Activism & Advocacy.
