Activism

         Dr. Lykes:...  " How do I define activism?   ...to act…acting as ….engaging my self and engaging myself in a relationship with other people, toward realizing a goal that we have set, and that goal is reflective of a set of value and commitments.  And so it’s mobilizing my self and mobilizing other people towards a goal that is informed by a sense of value, a sense of mission ….a sense of change.  I don’t think activism makes sense if out of …..a…I kind of like between action and reflection.  I think you have to think, to be able to really figure out what your goal is, to be able to figure how your goal is informed by your value and your mission.  And I think that you have to ….but I also think you can’t judge it….because you can think …..and that doesn’t do anything…..ACTIVISM for me has to do with mobilizing towards something new, something different, something regenerated, revise…"
