LOVE AND SUCCESS

Hieu:....................when you warped it up in speech at Hollins University……….You said….at the very end of the speech, you said that …………”…many things that you have done…and be successful…….go out and meet extraordinary people……have to be … ...you have to have love….”

Brinton:  uh…huh…

Hieu: …..and I really want to know ….love…what do you mean by that….love? The definition of that?  It’s too broad…for me when you said that…

Brinton:  Right…right…right….it was very broad……I think…..what I mean is……um….solidarity…..I think I mean…..a sense that I am a part of…that I am in relationship with people…and that…I am in relationship with me……and that in some ways…it is ….it symbol as …...  It symbol as felling that I am, on the one hand, a part of a larger collectivity and  on the other hand that collectivity is in me.   IS a part of who I am.  And that …that…I can….be identified with…..even though I never experience.………(???somone???) .talk about …the ….for the poor.  Even though they may not be poor in the sense of they may have a job, they may have an income, but they choose to …align .them self with …the least powerful society in order to engage with…that least powerful because they recognize the wisdom and the truth and the witness of those people.  Abd that what I mean by love.

Hieu:  I see.

Brinton:  Recognizing ….the goodness and the truth and the wholeness of people whom one has the privilege to ….

Hieu:  So it’s more… more deeper than the love …that they said “ I love you” every day on the out side…..

Brinton:  NO. No….it ‘s much more bout solidarity in connection….to relationally of some ways.  It not just in my head…….It has to do with …connected the HEART as well as the HEAD, and SPIRIT.

Hieu: Yeah,,,,the pririt…..
