A Bit About Me

My name is Danielle (or Sabrina or Dani) and I'm currently a junior at Hollins University, double-majoring in Women's Studies and Creative Writing.  This project has been one of the greatest, most challenging things I've ever done.  Debra worked with me through every disaster I encountered, and I am forever grateful.  The Life Histories/Self-Narratives class introduced me to an entirely new genre of literature and has sparked my interest in continuing research on the narrative process.  I hope to use what I've learned at Hollins to work on life narratives very far away from America after I graduate.

Sometimes I like to pretend I graduated from Hollins with Debra Abbott in '74, so that I can also pretend the people around me are not afraid of a revolution and are not afraid to stand up for what they believe in.  Reliving the civil rights movement through Debra's narratives was one of the most gratifying aspects of our work together.  The more I stand back and critique the system, the more I want to change it.  I am ready for a 21st Century Revolution, are you?
