Some little bits

of Ms. Dee's Life Story

My name is Frankie Keller and I had the pleasure of interviewing the bright and sunny Ms. Dee who works in the dining hall.

This is an excerpt from our interview:

Ms. Dee: I’ve been here goin’ on four years and I

really, really enjoy my job.

Frankie:  What’s it like?

Ms. Dee:  Well, I like, I like spoilin the girls. I talk to the girls every morning, see how they doin. If they need anything and I can get it for them, I’ll get it.  (pause) You need a hug, I’ll give you a hug. You need a shoulder to cry on, I got two of them.  (both laugh)

Now, this is just me, ain’t nobody else, but I feel everybody needs somebody to talk to. You know regardless (pause) what you do in your life, I’m not in a position to choose or say that’s wrong. You know, you know, I can’t say that, because I’m not God. So I can’t say that, but everybody needs love. Regardless of who it is, what color or whatever, everybody need love. Because God says everybody needs love. And I’m a person who is gonna give love.

Frankie:  So love is the most important thing?

Ms. Dee:  Yeah because everybody, cause (long pause) one thing.  Nobody’s mom, nobody’s, all the kids here, their momma’s gone and their daddy’s gone.  So they need their momma’s love, too.  And I’m the one who’s gonna give it to you, you see. (laughs and smiles a lot)

Frankie:  I can tell (smiles).

Ms. Dee:  Thanks (laughs and gives me a big hug).
