Interview Questions
A. The following questions were asked by students in their initial life story interview. These questions were selected from a compiled master list created by the students.
1. What is your full name and where did
it come from?
2. Tell me about your family.
3. Tell me about your childhood.
4. Tell me about your education.
5. Tell me about the jobs you've had.
6. How do you spend your time outside of work?
7. How long have you lived in this area?

Describe a typical week day and/or weekend.
Probe questions:
Can you tell me more about ...?
How did you feel about that?
Did it influence you in any way?
What did it mean to you?
Has that meaning changed?
B. The following questions were compiled by the students to provide direction in their second and/or third life story interviews. However, these later interviews were intended to follow up on earlier statements and stories made by interviewees. Thus, later interviewees became much more specific to each individual and his/her life and interests.
1. Can you tell me more about Hollins and how it has changed since you've been here?
2. Can you tell me more about your family?
3. Can you tell me more about the role of religion in your life?

How did the Vietnam War affect you?
How did special events at Hollins affect you (i.e. the flood of 1985)?
