Life
"That makes you part of the cycle of life, the circle of life, and I like that."
History
Anita: To me, having the dairy, and then when I take it up to the farmer’s market and someone comes through that’s never tried goat cheese and they get to talking to you about the goats and they try the cheese and they say this is good. Then you think - I’ve accomplished something. I’ve influenced one person. That will always stay with them, you know, and especially for the younger generation, ‘cause they may never ever try goat cheese ever again in their life, but when they’re talking to their grandkids, they may say, oh yeah, I used to go to the Roanoke Farmer’s Market and there was a lady there who sold goat cheese. You know, and talk to them about it. That makes you part of the cycle of life, the circle of life, and I like that. And two, the Roanoke Farmer’s Market is historical. It’s been there for years, I mean farmers drove their wagons there with horses to sell their stuff. And, to me, I’m kind of going down in history just a little bit. Maybe somewhere there’ll be a little footnote: and in such and such century, there was goat cheese on the market. You know. Just maybe. My, my great grandchildren may read about it if they ever pick up a magazine that has an article in it on the Roanoke Farmer’s Market. They may read – well that was my great great grandmother! So… you never know.
