Artist Statement.Political Paradox.Art in the mindbody.
Move with it.
The my body understands the parts that my mind cannot.
I am a tinker.
I am a thinker that relies on my body to inform my intellectual aesthetic.
Movement engenders thought, which engenders movement which engenders thought...
Improvisatory embodiment makes manifest my ideas.
constant questioning,
I do not always trust my body.
Not always funny, not always sweaty.
I do not understand everyhting I read.
Acknowleging my flaws bonds me to the human struggle.
Sitting still and romanticizing my moving counterpart.
There is intelligence coded in the flesh-only accessible through the flesh.
My body keeps secrets from my mind. My body demands attention. Humbled by the way I am constantly reminded of my earthliness- my bodiliness, I can better conceptualize my complicity and responsibility to the problems we face as a human
race.
Red wrappings of revolution and urgency to make movement.
