My process with Jenn...PEAL began in Sep ’02 while Jenn was teaching at Hollins for two weeks. The two of us spenttime in the studio making and exploring material that later
developed into what you see today.Rehearsals took place in the fall, jterm, and spring break.PEAL was performed at theFall Dance Gathering as a work in progress.Things we
talked about: excavating, digging through sand, images of Leonardo D'vinci, masculine/feminine, journey as awoman. This piece to me is instinctual and completely opposite of
anything I have ever done. The challenge for me lies in how to think about it or really how to not think about it. To let my body take over, for my mind and body to merge and to
trust, trust that all I have worked for and studied is the foundation for the movement, the drama, and the performance of it. I continue to search for more every time I do it, as well as
each time I break away from it.
