Teacher participants in the HESIT program have two simple requirements:

1. create a science teaching resource collection based upon the free materials and supplies provided during the summer, and,

2. conduct a classroom project with students based upon SOL content studied during the program.

This page illustrates a few of the projects conducted by 2010-11 HESIT teachers.

Chip conducted the "Draw-a-Scientist" test and did a skit with his students to pique their curiosity and address their stereotypes.

Elizabeth demonstrates her project - a kit for exploring the outdoors and collecting organisms for study.

Brandy shares research tools for students.
