Mentorship

Mentorship is a critical component of leadership development. Individuals who have participated in mentoring programs within the workplace have found that they greatly benefited from the relationships they formed and the new skills they developed. Women enrolled in the program identify a mentor in their workplace or field AND mentor a young woman at work or in their community. As they complete the mentoring component of their Certificate in Professional Leadership, participants explore the different aspects of leadership within their organizational settings. While they establish their mentor/mentee relationships, participants will select both a mentor and a mentee and work with each of them to achieve a goal. The mentee selects the goal in each relationship, and the mentor guides, supports and challenges the mentee as she works toward her goal.
