Qualifications: Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and have completed four semesters of coursework. Experience and/or knowledge of field of internship. Prefer a grade point average of at least a B. Education interns must be able to communicate well with the public. Enthusiasm/strong interest in learning about science education, environmental science, museum studies, research, etc.
Duties: Work with staff to present and develop programs to visiting school groups, special populations, and general public. Work with Distance Learning programs, help with guided walks and/or projects at Prairie Ridge, and at current special exhibit or special event. In Research & Collections assist with research about North Carolina’s natural history and collections management. Public Relations interns may gain experience in writing, media relations, and publication design.
