Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation, Washington, DC

Type of business/organization: The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation seeks to prevent pediatric HIV infection and to eradicate pediatric AIDS through research, advocacy, and prevention and treatment programs.
What
departments offer internships?
Interns can work in
Communications, Policy, Development, Research, or Programs departments. Our
internships can provide hands-on experience working in a variety of different
areas. As an intern, you can attend briefings on Capitol Hill, pitch stories to
the press, write articles for the Web, analyze technical publications, build
fundraising and awareness campaigns, create corporate underwriting proposals,
conduct campus outreach. . . and more!
Qualifications and/or majors preferred: we look for talented individuals who want to be part of something special and who are passionate about helping to fulfill the Foundation's mission.
Duties: will vary based on the needs of the Foundation and the interests of the intern.

Office of the Curator of the U.S. Supreme Court

Type of business: the Office of the Curator at the Supreme Court of the United States serves the Supreme Court by promoting a greater public understanding and appreciation of the nation’s highest court. The Office collects the institution’s rich history, shares it with a diverse audience through a variety of programs, and preserves it for future generations.

Qualifications: strong communication skills, ability to speak to large groups, self motivation, ability to work independently, dependability; experience in public speaking, research, teaching, or museum work; general office administration helpful.
Duties: assist with management of visitor programs, care for historic objects, catalog artifacts, organize manuscript collections, conduct tours and lectures for visitors, staff an information desk, perform administrative work
