How to Map a Network Drive


 


Computing & Technology

Click on the start button on the task bar and select My Computer
From the Tools menu, select Map network drive...

1. In the dialogue box that appears you may select any unused drive letter or accept the one that appears beside Drive:
2. Fill in the Folder name: 

The path will be something like \\servername\sharename
  Examples: \\instruction\batch
\\shares\writingcenter
\\shares\smithgr$

3. Check or clear the box Reconnect at Logon
If  checked, you will connect to this share on this drive every time you reboot your computer. 
If the box is clear, you will remain connected only until you reboot or disconnect from the drive.
