About my Research
My research interests include attentional processes involved in children’s media use and the impact of media on development. My recent work focuses on the impact of exposure to two types of media on infants and toddlers: (1) foreground television, which is TV designed for young children to which they likely pay active attention, and (2) background television, which is either TV an adult or older child is watching or which is left on with no one watching while the child is present. My current studies focus on the use of touchscreen devices by infants and toddlers.
