Delphi Charioteer
Dress of a charioteer: long chiton, shoulder cords, bits of reins in his hands.
Part of a chariot group, bits of which have been found.
Eyes inlaid with glass, sliver for headband, copper on the lips.
Dedicated for a victory in 478 or 474 BCE.
The base reads: “Polyzalos, victorious with his horses dedicated me, son of Deinomens, whom make prosper, Honored Apollo.”
Archaic head; Slight twist in body, columnar chiton.
