Thanks for visiting my web page. I hope you'll stop by often. I have been at Hollins since 1991. My academic specialty, and my first love, is politics in Latin America. This is the area in which I do most of my publishing, and it's usually what I talk about when I go to professional conferences.

Since we here at Hollins believe in well-rounded academic offerings, I teach a number of other subjects in the Political Science Department. (I have some sample syllabi below). In addition to Latin American Politics, I teach African Politics, U.S. Foreign Policy, Seminar on International Relations, even State and Local Politics.

Outside of class, I am an active community member, like most of the Hollins faculty. I belong to a local Kiwanis Club, I'm active at my church, and I hike occasionally with the Roanoke Appalachian Trail Club. I am also very  active in a local political party, but you'll have to come visit, or call me, or send me an e-mail, to find out which party!

In the last year, I've gotten an exciting new opportunity to do guest lectures on a cruise line to South America. Last year, I traveled from Valparaiso to Panama, and this year, I'm going 'round the Horn. I've got a link to the cruise line that hired me below.

I'm new to the homepage thing, so I'm open to suggestions. Please let me know what you want to know.
