Our Mission Statement

The Hollins University Department of Campus Safety strives to create an atmosphere of comfort and safety to allow students to concentrate on academic issues and to allow employees to concentrate on student service and learning.

The department objective is to work with all persons to preserve life, maintain human rights, protect property, and promote individual responsibility and community commitment. We believe it is our primary goal to maintain a safe and secure environment, and to provide public safety service for all persons living, working and visiting within the university.

The men and women of Campus Safety serve both the Mission of the University, and the Mission of the Department. Our department motto, to protect, serve, and educate, shows a firm commitment to the university and to the people who make up the university community.

Each academic year we publish a new Annual Security Report with the most current Campus Crime Statistics as reported to the Department of Education.

We also update campus safety news and crime alerts to educate and warn the community of new campus safety practices and crime trends or problems. Please view these pages regularly to obtain the most current information available.
