About HUSD |
|
The HU Security Department, located in Botetourt Hall, provides 24-hour-a-day dispatch and patrol services to the campus community. Officers are linked to the Dispatcher and each other by two-way radios. The officers conduct foot, bicycle, and motor vehicle patrols of the campus grounds, academic and administrative buildings, and residence halls with increased emphasis during the hours of darkness. HU Security Officers also provide additional duties such as personal safety escorts on campus, enforcing all parking regulations, registering student bicycles, and assisting with special events. Our Dispatcher is located within the main lobby of the HU Security Department in Botetourt Hall. The dispatch section is staffed and operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week, throughout the year. The on campus emergency number, 6911, directly connects any campus phone with the HU Security Dispatcher and should be used when fire, police, or medical response is required or there is a threat to community safety. This number is also published in the university telephone directory and student handbook. For information, escort services, and other non-emergency calls, students and employees should dial the 24-hour non-emergency number, 362-6419. |
