Hollins University

Roanoke, Virginia

Security Staff

The Hollins University Department of Campus Safety Security Force provides around the clock security and emergency response services to the university community.  Security Officers are not law enforcement officers and therefore have no authority to arrest individuals violating the law.  They do not carry firearms nor do they have access to firearms.  For their personal protection and for the protection of third parties, security officers carry and are trained in the use of Pepper Spray and the Expandable Baton.  They do have the authority to enforce university policy on university properties.  This authority allows security officers to detain employees and students of the university while conducting investigations into criminal activity and university policy violations.
