LATIN REVIEW SHEET

Latin. Students who plan to take the Latin placement test should be able to state what introductory textbook(s) they have used and what ancient authors they have read. The format of the test is a single prose passage followed by multiple-choice questions on grammar, reading comprehension, and translation. Students should be familiar with the forms (case, number, and gender) of all five declensions and verb formation (voice, mood, tense, person, and number) of all conjugations. Familiarity with advanced grammar topics such as (but not limited to) ablative absolute, gerunds and gerundives, conditional sentences and indirect questions, statements, and commands, will be helpful.
